The Spiritual vs The Physical

Mission Scripture:

Ephesians 6:12

“12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

“Light in the Darkness” is what every Christian is called to be. A role that consists of shedding light and sharing our light with the masses. Correcting assumptions about Christians, teaching the Word of God, correcting misinterpretations of the Word and covering topical issues from the view of a Christian.

That verse is the foundation of this project; in this time of hatred and violence we must remember that the people who partake in racism, xenophobia etc. are under the influences of evil powers. Now I’m not saying that they are not responsible for their actions because they definitely are, what I’m trying to say is that as Christians our first reaction shouldn’t be anger and retaliation but prayer for their souls and this world.

We need to keep in mind that EVERYTHING we battle with physically happens first in the spiritual realm. So to cause a change in this world we must first respond spiritually. We need to tap into the power of intercessory prayer. The role of a Christian is to tell the good news but what if people are ‘deaf’ then we must first pray on their behalf for their spiritual ears to be unplugged.  To reiterate my point; we shouldn’t condemn the people around us but instead we should fight against the spiritual powers using them. And we need to keep the Word in our hearts because God has already won the victory over every battle for those who operate in the Holy Spirit!

"Now I do what I want"

By Oseyi Omokhoa When I was a brand new believer, one of my favourite verses was Psalm 20:4, “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed”. I thought this meant that now that I have Jesus on my side, all of my wishes would become a reality. Obviously I was watching too much Disney. Then I came across Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed”. I thought, okay, calm. I just have all of my trust in God and I will get what I want. Not quite there yet. Recently, God revealed Proverbs 16:19, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps” which means that I can plan out my life all the way from birth to death, I can cry out in prayer until my tongue twists but if it is not God’s plan for my life then I am just wasting my breath.
